I think the distinction between “intelligence” and probability is an important part of understanding how these models work. Even though the underlying process is mathematical, the results can still be surprisingly useful for creative workflows.

What I find particularly interesting is how this is starting to affect 3D production. AI can help with ideation, references, concept development, and parts of the animation workflow, while the final result still benefits from human artistic direction and technical control.

For example, AI-assisted workflows could become useful alongside traditional 3d character animation services , especially for developing character concepts, movement ideas.

I'd be interested to hear how others here are already using AI in their Blender or 3D workflows. Are you finding it more useful for generating ideas, creating assets, or actually speeding up production?

    Hello everyone,

I just tried out a slightly different workflow for a short 3D animation and would like to hear your opinions on it.

For the first step, I created a source image using Gemini. Then I converted this image into a short animation using Leonardo AI.

    Here is the result:

I'm particularly interested in how you would rate the animation from a 3D/animation perspective.

What I find particularly striking is the question of how well the original design is preserved during the movement. With such image-to-video processes, small changes to shapes, details, or movement sequences can quickly occur.

    Therefore, my questions are:

    • Does the movement seem somewhat natural to you?
    • Where do you notice the biggest weaknesses?
    • How do you assess the consistency of the character and details during the animation?
    • Would you use such a workflow more for initial ideas and previsualization, or also for finished short animations?
    • What would you then manually correct to make the result significantly cleaner?

I'm just starting to try out the workflow and therefore welcome critical feedback. I'm particularly interested in what an experienced 3D/animation user would do differently.:)

    Hi Ephi,

Yes, there are several film festivals and animation events in Germany where 3D-animated films can be submitted or presented. It may be worth checking festivals that focus specifically on animation, short films, or digital media, rather than only looking for events labeled as “3D animation festivals.”

If you're planning a festival-style public screening yourself, you could also consider contacting local animation schools, film associations, and independent filmmaker communities. They may be able to point you towards suitable venues or existing events.

Sounds like a great idea—I'd definitely be interested in seeing how the project develops!
