Carrara 5.0.5 Update Features and Fixes
Below you will find a list of bugs that have been fixed:
General:
- Carrara's interface freezes
- Scrollbar not activated by default in Keyboard Shortcut Menu > 3D View >Edit Section of Preferences...
- Wrong sound panel in properties
- Memory leaks when playing a movie in loop
- Need "Apply to Group" Option In Include/Exclude Lighting Feature
- sequencer: selecting lots of keyframes (eg in a BVH imported file) is extremely slow
- Dual monitors: vertex modeler, the shading domains list is drawn outside the scrolling area
- Dual monitors: Windows cannot be moved to the top of the secondary monitor
- Problem launching Carrara as normal user
- Application crash when modifying a text with a deformer
- Smooth Objects Scene command: should not affect volumetric primitives
- Graph editor: create key frame in the mini-graph doesn't update the ui
- Matchmoving: importing a Syntheye file referencing a movie with a number of digits different than 3 makes the import fail
- Duplicated objects will not attach to the bones
- Error message appears when performing 3D boolean operation with a deformed object
- Unable to skip unknown primitive
- Assembly room/Properties Tray/Drag and dropping objects bug
- Problem with Wacom tablets when moving the camera
- Master Object, Shader, Sound List: Naming issue
3DView:
- When the camera is scaled, the Production frame isn't displayed at the proper place
- Dolly tool resets Camera scale to 100%
- The Wire Frames of the active camera are displayed when they should not be.
- View Selection: should be undoable when applied to a scene camera
- Surface Replicator: selection in the 3DView should select the surface (and not the replicator)
- Carrara becomes very slow in textured mode with trees
- Carrara becomes very slow in textured mode on with Poser figures
Replicator:
- Problem with shadows when rendering replicated objects in the batch queue
- Surface replicator: problem when replicating on an object inside a group
- Object replicator preview doesn't match the rendered image
- Carrara hangs after modifying a tree in a replicator in texture mode
Particles:
- Forces in particles - transformation of force give unpredictable results
- Crash in object mode when particle's lifetime can be negative
- With the "die on impact" and in object mode all particles die when the first one hit something
- Particle calculations take an abnormally long time after inserting a poser figure
- Generation rate problem when "Nb particles / s" can become negative because of the error factor
- Time goes jump back and forward when playing this animation
Poser Native Importer:
- CR2 Importer: importing "Suit Jacket.ppz" failed
- CR2 Importer: animation import from pz2 is not working
- Problem with the position of eyes
- Problem when figure parented to another actor
- Carrara freeze opening this file
- Error while converting Poser figure to vertex object
- Problem finding textures
- Problem when conforming figure (message: incompatible figures)
- Problem importing "Skeleton Man.crz"
- Problem with Poser native importer
TransPoser (Pro Only):
- Crash when importing a scene containing an IBL light
- Network Rendering: figures imported with TransPoser are not rendered on the render nodes
Modeling:
- Spline Modeler: closing the extrusion path cannot be properly undone
Rendering:
- Rendering is very slow when many big objects are in the same location
- Really slow rendering with replicated trees
- Slow rendering of Volumetric clouds in some cases.
- Translucency: problem with alpha channel
- Indirect lighting does go through transparent objects using alpha channel
- Memory allocation error while rendering the forest file of the scene Wizard
- Volumetric clouds: memory allocation error while rendering volumetric clouds
- Rendering: Problem rendering big cylinders
- Crash with displacement mapping applied to particles
- This camera renders the same object in two different places
- Replicator crash in multi-processor
- Render performances: every object is rendered twice but at the same place
- Render Node crashes when rendering a file for the second time
- Light sphere animates in steps
- Cylinders are not saved properly.
- Network Rendering: particles are not rendered the same on main application and render node
- Problem with Motion blur and particles
- Render Room: In Named File is not saved !
- Volumetric clouds have the wrong size in the batch queue or the modeler preview when the units to mile ratio is not the default one.
- Carrara lock when rendering this file
- Impossible to render an image in 16000 by 16000 on Windows
- SMP: Unknown error rendering a scene containing a light with a movie as gel map
- Freeze while rendering a file with a sky
Vertex Modeler:
- Crash when scaling a vertex object
- Morph Targets lost after copy paste
- Slow down with Background Images
- Carrara slows down when using an image for the backdrop
- Impossible to switch Edit Mode when Weight Painting selected
- Setting a custom shortcut on some of the commands in the model menu (Crease, Smooth...) sets it on a different command.
- Using a keyboard shortcut to close the window (while the mouse is inside it) causes display problems.
- error on converting smoothing with level 0 on modelling
- 4 view layout,area render stays when clicking in a different view
- View Selection doesn't work properly
- Crash when rendering a group of smoothed object
Shading:
- Problem with shader selection menu
- Unstacking a lighting model generates an error
- Using a terrain distribution shader on a deformed object crashes the preview.
- Unknown error occurs when dragging and dropping a shader layer.
- Shader loss when copying an object from a document to another
- Terrain shader has some transparent parts when there is no transparency in the shader.
- Problem with Drag and drop shader from browser to preview window in shading room
- Texture size is limited to 2Gb
- Error message when cancel "edit shader"
- Remove Unused Master Shaders can remove shader that have displacement mapping
Import/Export:
- 3ds export duplicates textures
- obj exporter duplicates textures
- VET Animators: cannot input time...
- Error when opening this FBX file (same edge used twice in polygon)
- Crash when opening lwo file from XFrog
- 3DS importer: shaders names issue
