hi, AM hat das hier auf FB gepostet. Ich denke das könnte für den einen oder anderen interessant sein.
Bezieht sich wahrscheinlich auf ZBrush:
This is probably boring technical news for most of the folks, but
nonetheless I've been mumbling for a long time how to speed up the
creation process and workflow for my models, specifically the rigging
and weight map part, i.e. where you define the 'digital bones', joints
and areas that bend and allow to pose the model.
That task is well known for being extensively time-consuming: after the model
geometry is ready and [lexicon]polygon[/lexicon] groups are defined you need to manually
create the digital bones, set the limits for the XYZ rotations, hide and
rename the controls, create and edit the weight maps that make them
bend properly and tune the whole system until all is working properly.
Well, finally after some weeks of work I’ve finally come up with a code
routine that will do this work automatically! With one mouse click the
code will create and setup all the joints and weight maps procedurally
in a matter of seconds, saving me several hours of work: all I need to
do afterwards is fine-tuning controls (if needed) and checking that all
is working as supposed to.
I’m glad I was able to come up with this
as it will allow me to work more efficiently and hopefully breed animal
models at a faster pace
