  • Vielleicht musten sie ja jetzt einen Supportmitarbeiter extra einstellen , bein den regen Bedarf so manch User ^^

    Amateurs hope. Professionals work.

It is a special product that they give away free to certain customers, as it is a promotional item they put the high price tag on it so that it can be in the store but most users would not purchase it at that price point.

No, it's not a joke. She was a special "gift" for a select group of "special" DAZ customers -- I don't know the exact criteria by which one qualified to receive her, but she had to be in the product inventory to allow her to be downloaded. DAZ put that ludicrous price-tag on her to deter just anyone from buying her, in order to make her "exclusive".

Not "exclusive" enough, however; I bought her, about a year ago. My PC+ membership let me get her for, if memory serves, about $241 and change. And I use the hell out of her, for what I would hope are obvious reasons. (Not least of which is, she's absolutely gorgeous!)
orrection: she was $244.97, with the 30% PC+ discount.

I keep hoping to get sent the promo code to get her for free, but so far no luck. Though I am not sure what qualifies a user to be eligible for the free Bijou promotion, or if Daz is still running the promotion.

What are the condition to obtain it ?

That, to the best of my knowledge, is a "trade secret", more carefully guarded than the 11 Herbs and Spices, the formula for Coke Classic, or the nuclear launch codes....

The staff typically use these as test cases. By pricing it ridiculously they figure no one will try and actually buy it. They're testing a feature in the store software.

Would they have the test running this long though, I mean if done as a test of the store software, once whatever they were testing about the software concluded, then it would make more sense for the product to be taken down. I mean this test item has been available at $349 for a number of years now. (unless the test being run is a psychological test to see how often it is found and discussed by the customers)

I'm going to challenge that scenario, simply because I build web applications for a living. There is no good reason to "test" store features and functions in the "live" production environment, and a whole lot of reasons not to. Indeed, industry "best practices" dictate, "Don't do it; don't even think about it!"

I am assuming that DAZ has a multi-tiered product-development framework (and in this context, the DAZ web presence would be considered a "product"), with separate and discreet environments for development, testing, "staging" (a pre-production environment, accessible to beta testers and others), and finally, production. There is simply no legitimate justification for injecting 'dummy' data into a production database, for any reason.

And the fact that I did, in fact, "try and actually buy it" -- and DA let me -- rather effectively defenestrates that rationale, also....

Wow I was going to say it could be that special licenced products to use in movies or animations for profit

Daz's standard license already allows users to use any rendered output for profits, as long as the [lexicon]mesh[/lexicon] can not be extracted from the final product. The only exception is the Anna Marie Goddard digital clone has additional restrictions to protect her rights to publicity. The only reason the game developer licenses are different is because those have to cover that the [lexicon]mesh[/lexicon] is being redistributed to work in the game engine.

I was typing pretty much the same thing, but he saved me the effort.

I'm sure I've seen products with special licences. .....

for some reason I got her for free when she first came out
